Welcome

Hello, my name is Mary McKechnie-Harless and I am a Massage Therapist in Winchester, Virginia. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Criminology focusing on Victim Assistance and Juvenile probation I attended and graduated from Potomac Massage Therapy Institute in Washington, DC. I knew I wanted to help and support others but I also needed to support myself so my Massage therapy career was put on hold…..I became a Massage Instructor then an Accounts Receivable\Administrative Assistant then a Computer Trainer and Database Designer until finally I came back to Massage in 2007.  I very much enjoyed each of my endeavors. It wasn’t until well into my years as a massage therapist that I realized how important those previous paths were for me as a massage therapist. Those years have given me a deep understanding of the stresses involved in many types of careers, be they physical, emotional or mental. I’ve also experienced some health challenges that have given me a deeper understanding of what people face and go through in their day to day lives when illness redefines who we are. We are all unique, and no 2 experiences are the same, but we CAN help each other with empathy and support.  Massage Therapy, and the focused intention that it provides, has been, and continues to be the avenue by which I can best help and support people on their life’s journey. Massage is a partnership, and although many clients don’t realize it, the client does as much “work” as, if not more than, the therapist!
